My name doesn’t have just one particular meaning. It has three!  

One of the characters means a type of wood that is used to support the roof of traditional Chinese houses. My parents wanted me to grow up to be a useful person to the society.  

   

My name sounds like “healthy boy” and some people think it’s very unusual to name a girl this.   

One of the important meanings of my name is that it sounds like another set of characters that stand for “built in the south”.

My family name is one of the most common names in Britain and it means somebody who works with metal.  

My first name means a purple flower that grows a lot in northern England. This kind of flower turns whole hills a lively purple every July.  

   

My mother used the name of the flower to remind her of home.

Vivid – lively  

   

My family name is a very common Welsh name and my first name is a fairly common boy’s name.  

My grandfather left Wales and settled down in Manchester finally and he had to bear a lot of difficulties.
