教材案例分析  

   本单元的话题是“ Wheels” Clean Machines这课的第一部分内容是阅读一个Interview重点培养学生的重要泛读技能—ScanningSkimming侧重培养学生的语言知识,本课的重点语法知识是现在完成时与现在完成进行时,设计中把这两个重要语法现象寓于阅读中,这样凸现了语言知识的运用性,强化了学习语言知识的目的,能够调动学生的学习积极性。Clean Machines以阅读为载体,侧重学生语言知识的发展和运用能力培养。阅读内容以太阳能汽车为主题,培养学生阅读采访对话的能力,在阅读技能方面侧重培养学生Scanning的阅读技能。本课的第二部分内容是在指导学生理解现在完成进行时的基础上,对其语言知识现象与现在完成时的比较的学习和运用。本部分内容遵循了归纳的设计思路,引导学生对此语法现象认知、练习,并加以熟练运用。本课的活动设计Activity 1旨在激发学生对汽车的认识和了解。Activity 2的活动设计激活学生的想象力和已有的相关知识,对太阳能汽车大致了解。Activity 3的活动需要学生对采访信息加工推断,把对内容的理解引向评价,为学生的口头表达做必要的铺垫。Activity 4是读后活动设计,旨在培养学生的读后表达能力。Activity 3Activity 4之间过渡平缓合理,互为补充。Activity 5通过填空练习,促进学生认知现在完成进行时的功能及其语境含义。Activity 6的设计促进学生两种时态用法的意义理解。Activity 7 Activity 8是针对两种时态形式的训练。Activity 9的综合性很强,旨在促进学生理解和掌握现在完成进行时现在完成时的实际运用。Activity 10是双人活动,通过问答方式,增进彼此间的了解及语言的表达能力。  

   Present Perfect And Present Perfect Continuous是本单元的重点语法现象。因此本部分的内容需要专题讲练才能使得学生熟练运用这两个用法。

Period 1 Solar Car Racing (Reading)  

Teaching goals 教学目标

2)You’ve been designing solar racing cars for a long time.

 Enable the students to play solar car designers and have an interview with a journalist.

 Help the Students learn to how play solar car designers and have an interview with a journalist.

 Help students make up their own interview in the same way as the material shows.

Enable students to read some important facts about the text and the solar cars.

Step I Check homework  

Activity one: Check homework  

Let students put the words in the correct group and circle two of them that can go in more than one group.  

Trains ( stations )  

Cars  

Aircraft ( airports)  

Platform, ticket, racing  

Solar power, batteries, racing, traffic lights  

Check in, boarding card, passport control, ticket  

Activity two: Presentation  

T: Look at the screen and try to find the problems. (Pictures showing crowded cars)  

Ss: From the pictures, we can see cars with four wheels have taken the place of bikes with only two wheels and even become a popular means instead of that on foot.  

T: What effect can you imagine they will have?   

Ss: They will cause a great deal of pollution and the polluted air becomes poisonous and dangerous to health.  

T: So can you think of any ways to get rid of this bad situation?  

Ss: It’s likely to build a car that does not pollute.  

T: Great! Today we are going to read an interview. After that, I think we may find a way out.   

StepⅡ Pre-reading  

Activity one: Get familiar with solar cars by asking the following questions  

 1)Look at the pictures on page 40 and guess whether you have ever seen this kind of car.  

2) How many different kinds of cars can you name?  

3)Do you know anything about solar cars? Where do they get their power from?  

Ask students to answer questions in Activity 2 and use the phrases to help them.  

Ss: More or less. Solar cars use the sun’s energy; don’t use petrol, gas or any other fuel. They are clean, safe and cause no pollution.  

Step III While reading  

Activity one: Discover useful information  

Let students read the interview aloud fast and pick out the sentences about the advantages of solar racing car.  

(Solar cars are clean and safe. They are getting better all the time and can run fast, even in cloudy weather. )  

Activity two: Judgement in detail  

1.Get the Ss to read the interview again quickly and tell whether the statements are true or false for Ex.3 at page 40.  

Step IV Post - reading  

Activity one: Discussion  

1. Ask students to discuss in pairs for Activity 4 on page 40.  

2. Let each imagine himself/herself as a solar car designer and is having an interview with a journalist and then act it out if time permits.  

Activity two: Voice your opinion  

Step V Homework   

1. Review Present Perfect Simple or continuous.  

2.Finish exercise 1- 3 on page 82 using the way of comparing.
