suppose  

vi. & vt. 表示“猜想;认为;设想”,作及物动词时其后可跟从句。  

[例句]   

Prices will go up, I suppose.  

我觉得物价将会上涨。  

They suppose that he’ll agree.  

他们认为他会同意。   

[拓展]  

be supposed to do / be sth. 应该,理应  

not be supposed to do sth. 不准,不应当  

[例句]  

I thought we were supposed to be paid today.  

我以为我们今天会领到薪水呢。  

You’re not supposed to walk on the grass.  

不准践踏草地。

adj. (对某人/某物)厌倦的;烦闷的。常构成词组bored with sb. / sth., bored with doing sth.  

[例句]  

I am never bored with his stories.  

我从未对他的故事感到厌烦。  

The children quickly got bored with staying indoors.  

孩子们在屋子里很快就待不住了。  

[拓展]  

       在课本第9页中出现了get bored 这种结构,意思是“厌倦”。类似短语还有get excited“兴奋”, get relaxed“放松”等。  

[辨析]  

bored boring  

       bored表示“(某人)对……感到厌倦”;boring表示“(某人/某物)令人感到厌倦的”。  

[例句]  

She’s bored with doing the same thing every day.  

她对每天都做一样的事情感到厌倦。  

He’s such a boring man!   

他就是这么一个惹人烦的人!

爆竹砰的一声爆炸了。  

[拓展] go off well / badly进行得很顺利/糟糕  

[例句] How did your plan go off?  

It went off very well, thank you.”  

“你的计划进行得怎么样?  

“非常好,谢谢你。”  

The interview went off very badly.  

面试进行得非常糟糕。
