钟南山于1941年出生在广州，毕业于北京医学院，并于1979年出国进修，是中国最著名的科学家和医生之一。2003年奋战在抗击非典第一线，2020年初，84岁高龄的他，再战武汉新型肺炎防疫最前线。他是病人眼中的爱心医生，学生眼里的慈爱老师，经常激励学生要献身医学事业。

 

Dear Jim,

Zhong Nanshan is one of the premier medical scientists in the 21st century. Born in 1941 and graduated from Beijing Medical College, this ordinary but great man has been working in the medical field for over 50 years.

In the spring of 2003, the SARS epidemic broke out in China and across the globe. Zhong Nanshan not only led but also took an active part in the battle against SARS. At the time no one really knew much about SARS and most people had no natural defenses against the disease. Dangerous as it was, Zhong Nanshan worked hard day and night treating SARS patients. Through their hard work for several months, soon the SARS epidemic was topped in its track.

Now in 2020, Zhong Nanshan aged 83, as head of a high-level expert team, is fighting against the novel coronavirus(冠状病毒）, a pneumonia(肺炎) outbreak in Wuhan, Hubei Province.

Zhong Nanshan is devoted to the medical cause. He is a good doctor in the patients’ eyes and a kind medical professor in his students as well. He set so good an example for us students that we all should learn from him.

I feel extremely happy to share with you my feelings after such a long holiday.

We were left locked at home owing to the novel coronavirus. However, facing the upcoming college entrance examination, I had no choice but to study even harder, keeping to the regular schedule at school, listening to online courses and doing endless exercises. During this tough period, I was deeply impressed and moved by the selfless medical fighters, who risked losing their own lives to save the lives of others. Thanks to them, everything returns to normal now. Besides, our teachers’generous help and painstaking efforts to help us can never be thanked enough.

With the advance of economy and technologe , great changes have taken place in the job market . The incomes of actors , singers , sports stars , media hosts or Internet celebrities are extremely high , which has aroused wide attention and much concern.On the one hand , the people constructing our country and serving the people fail to earn the money they deserve. On the other,some artists and hosts make millions of dollars only by showing up in some occasions .To address this issue , not only should we set income standard for artists , but we ashould also acknowledge the efforts made by ordinary people. It’s the average people that contuibute most  for our country .
