                  Lesson 3 Master Hongyi

I. Greeting

Good afternoon, boys and girls. How are you today? Today is special. Do you know why? Because China Import and Export Fair or you can say Guangzhou Fair is open today. If a company wants to have more business, it had better attend the fair, right? Today is also the Global Handwashing Day, whose purpose is to raise the awareness of the importance of handwashing as an effective way to prevent diseases. Today is special, also because that five more students will come here to introduce themselves. Now let’s welcome them to come here and write down their Chinese name and English name on the Bb, and introduce their hobbies.

 

II. City locations.

Now let’s come back to our course.

Can you guess who he is. He was a poet, an art educator, calligrapher, musician, dramatist, seal cutter. Yes, he was really a versatile genius. One of his most famous student was Feng Zikai. He once acted as a female in the French novel “The Lady of the Camellias”. And he was the first Chinese to compose music with staves. We are all very familiar with this song “Songbie”. It was written by him.

Where can you find his signs in Quanzhou? You can find his wax statue in Chengtian Tempe. You can find his Memorial Hall in Kaiyuan Temple. And you can find his stone statue in Qingyuan Mountain. So who is he? Yes, he is Master Hongyi. In Chinese we say Hongyi Fashi. Borned in Tianjin, he died in Quanzhou. His name is Li Shutong. But known for his Buddhist name Hongyi. He was a master painter, musician, dramatist, calligrapher, seal cutter, poet, and Buddhist monk. He devoted himself to Buddhism, did not eat after noon, carefully studied the discipline, carried forward the Buddhism, and helped all living beings out of misery.

 

III.  City Game. 

Now we are going to play a simple game. You need to throw the dice and perform the task on the top side. For example, if the top side is “imitate his smile”, then you need to smile like him in this picture. If you are lucky, your task may be “doing nothing”. Good luck. Now who wants to throw the dice first?

 

 

 

反思:

今天自我感觉课上得挺满意的。我并没有要求学生一定要把其他课作业收起来。但是我在上课的过程中发现,他们大多数都很认真在听我讲课。在游戏环节,个别学生比较羞涩,但是在大家的鼓励下,还是可以到台上表演。今天时间也安排得比较好,游戏结束刚好下课。我发现在上课刚开始时,介绍一点时事学生还是比较感兴趣,如今天广交会开幕,如介绍全球洗手日等。课堂的设计环节也比较能保持学生的兴趣。为了这节课,我花了较多时间在做教案,甚至手工做一个筛子,让学生扔出他们需要完成的任务等。之后,我又自己练习了几遍,把课堂的流程和课堂用语熟悉起来,这样在课堂上会显得更有自信,更有说服力。因为这是选修课,学生可以选你的课也可以不选,所以抓住学生兴趣,并且让他们在课堂上有所学。
